The Black Eyed Peas Promo Work

Shown here is one of the 20 of the Black Eyed Peas promo work we produced for Geffen|A+M Records. A demo of the Black and white composite approval is done by the photographer, to final studio colour shoot by Ianthe in Los Angeles upon approval by Will and Fergie, and then off to us for the final mix… touch ups, lighting adjustments, background treatment, typography etc…. the usual suspects.

So, if you find yourself in Mexico City in September… you will know exactly where to be…. If i can score some passes, and your in town, drop me a line.  :-)

The Habakkuk Project

This is an illustration we recently finished for an Italian Science Magazine on a World War 2 concept to turn iceburgs into giant floating carriers. It was known as Project Habakkuk.

Interestingly enough…. the concept is not that far off from taking large celestial bodies and hollowing them out to create space faring craft… using natural objects as your structural foundation…..

Derryl Murphy was also telling me that it took that test craft years to melt at the site in Banff(?), apparently, since they’d embedded wood in the ice. Would have been cool (sorry) to see. I believe it was actually a cardboard/wood composite to prevent melting…. i cannot believe you got a chance to see it… that is soooooooo damn cool…..
