Background painting from our rocky and rolly days in Animation. Done for the animated series ‘Ripley’s Believe it or Not’…

Painting in process based on a photograph taken in Mexico City at the Shrine of the Virgin of Guadalupe in the modern Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Basílica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe in Spanish) – one of the two churches built on top of Tepeyac hill, north of Mexico City. The site is nearby the place where it is said Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared in front of Juan Diego Cuauhtlatoatzin. This site is also known as La Villa de Guadalupe or, in a more popular sense, simply La Villa.

Truly blown away here… the Guadalajara Reporter chose my painting ‘Devil in a ReDress’ as the showcase piece advertising for the upcoming FERIA ARTES AJIJIC which will feature 52 artists from in and around Lakeside and Guadalajara. Shown here is the english print. I yelled so loud Chris thought somebody had been shot….

In the meantime… I think this is ALMOST done…. ‘TRAVELLER ZERO’.. it was a nice experiment in glazing… using a series of washes in oils to build the image up similar to water color…. but way more mailable if you wish to correct or alter the piece. The character is intended to resemble a famous biblical figure but I think I need to do a bit more work on making that clear….

Completed Flyer/poster for our January 29th Fine Art Show ‘Transiciones’

Emergence No. 2 – Oil on Canvas finally complete based on my earlier digital study. With the cold weather, I am concerned it will not be dry in time for the show… fingers crossed…. get out the space heaters….

A very early digital piece I painted up in Oils… but I was very unhappy with the results and retired it. I think I am going to try and salvage it if I can before the show, but I may just go direct from digital to Giclee…….
